2021 Labor Day Tribute to Cobb County Chairperson, Lisa Cupid, and the rest of the Cobb County Commissioners

Just an ordinary citizen standing up, speaking out on an obvious “dirty, grimy situation” here in Cobb County, Georgia!!!

“He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it. He who accepts evil without protesting against it is really cooperating with it.

“In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.”
Dr. Martin Luther King, JR.

It seem more than fitting that coincident with honoring the work ethics of so many hard working Cobb County Americans this Labor Day weekend, that attention as well be brought to Chairperson Cupid and all members of the Cobb County Commission.
The obvious signs of their dedication and focused attention to the needs and welfare of all citizens of Cobb County are quite readily visible for those daily using County facilities.

Let’s take for example the County Recycling Center located at 1775 County Services Parkway, Marietta, GA 30008.

After literally many months of focused neglect, on August 02, 2021, all of the media (including Patch News) were alerted to the following:

Straight out of a third world country – the entire area strewn with every imaginable type of garbage, in the grass, trees – grease, grim all mixed in – a regular sewer of garbage – pot holes throughout almost big enough to swallow small vehicles – due to rain a regular swirl of stench and odors that must be personally experienced.

This excuse for recycling is in fact a welcome attraction for every type of abominable insect, rodent, and vermin.
All of the media were explicitly invited to go and see for themselves.
Instead of publishing the story with first hand observations, the media instead unilaterally censored it – nothing.

Then in a matter of days miraculously all of the superficial loose debris and trash had been pickup. However the rather large pot holes remained throughout – untouched – absolutely nothing was done. It was a prime example of least possible effort for a temporary “show” without solving anything.
After almost a month the media was again notified of the decadent conditions at the Recycle Center – the potholes had now become craters:

On August 31, 2021, the media was again notified of the following:
Now instead of “pot holes” the constant rain has created “CRATERS” of mud and debris, so much so in one, a full sized pickup truck could fit therein. So why not go see for your self – right now? Maybe have Commissioner Cupid do a photo op standing right in the middle of that pickup truck sized crater?
Unfortunately absolutely nothing resulted. No remedies were provided. It was again another media blackout.

On this Labor Day 2021 it can now be conservatively estimated that the original deplorable conditions at the Recycle Center have returned from early August, 2021. Not only have the craters remained but now garbage and debris of every type and description (as of this afternoon – Monday, September 06, 2021) can be seem and observed by anyone taking the opportunity to personally visit this rendition of a “third world country” right there on County Service Parkway.

With the soon arriving rains the return of monumental pools of mud, grim, grease, and sludge will certainly be there for all to witness and experience first hand. Photos taken on Friday (attached) speak for themselves

Perhaps it would be more than fitting amid of those rain storms that perhaps Chairperson Cupid and fellow County Commissioners might consider holding a special “town hall meeting” dead center within the Recycling Center?

Why should not all openly and visually share in person the experience that all Cobb County residents have witnessed and endured over these many prior months?
One wonders if the media will continue the blackouts or actually report this “grimy situation” – better yet become an on hand witnessing part of this ongoing saga?
Happy Labor Day
God Bless
